Gluten is a family of proteins found in grains like wheat, rye, spelt and barley. Gluten helps foods maintain their shape, acting as a glue that holds food together. Gluten can be found in many types of foods, even ones that would not be expected but the main three being Wheat, Barley and Rye.
Yes. Health Freak Café is a 100% Gluten Free Café. There is no risk of cross contamination.
No. They manifest completely differently. Some people may have one or other complaint, while others may have both or neither. Coeliac disease may also overlap with diabetes, various fermentable sugar problems and deficiency diseases. Coeliac disease refers specifically to gut damage. Gluten intolerance reflects other symptoms including neurological, tiredness, eczema, aches and pains, hyperactivity, mood swings and clinical depression. Gluten can exacerbate the symptoms of epilepsy and autism.

Yes. No food items are sold as 100% nut allergen free. As we operate working kitchens please be aware that there is always a risk that traces of nut allergens may be transferred to ingredients during storage or preparation of food in our kitchens. Health Freak Café are therefore unable to guarantee that any food item sold is free from traces of nut allergens
We only cook with Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO).
Our sweet potato fries are baked fresh for every customer. We bake them at the perfect temperature, for the perfect amount of time without having to add oil for taste – keeping the fat content of our fries’ low, and the flavour high!
Yes, all ingredients found in CocoFreak are 100% dairy-free, 100% lactose free and 100% vegan (never contain any animal byproducts).
CocoFreak is our own organic sugar free ice cream. Made with coconut milk and other organic ingredients it is an all-natural, dairy free, gluten free, guilt free dessert.
CocoFreak comes in four amazing flavours. Salted Caramel (Calories 380 | P2g, F20g, C48g), Naked Coconut (Calories 418 | P2g, F26g, C44g), Choc Raspberry Ripple (Calories 392 | P3g, F20g, C50g) and Vanilla Sticky Date Pecan (Calories 435 | P2g, F27g, C46g).
We use four chemical free sugar alternatives to sweeten our food. Pure maple syrup, dates, fresh fruit and xylitol.
Xylitol is a naturally occurring carbohydrate, that looks and tastes just like regular table sugar. It is a natural sweetener that can be extracted from any woody fibrous plant material. Xylitol is found widely in nature, most of the fruits and vegetables that we eat on a daily basis have small amounts of xylitol.
